WEEK 7

CONGRATULAIONS TO EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE RUNNING OF THE PICNIC POINT EISTEDDFOD ON THE WEEKEND!

It was so nice to go to a dance competition where the facilities were comfortable, the teachers were treated with respect and it ran on time!
Healthy food was in abundance, as well as breakfast and hot coffee at 8 in the morning!
The competition between the schools was fierce yet all the teachers were friendly and supporting of each other...there were quite a few occasions where we swapped ‘forgotten’ costume bits and pieces!
For the final judging of the weekend, the coveted senior troupe awards, I was sitting alongside the teachers from 3 of the ‘opposing’ schools... we all had a chuckle together or gave congratulatory nods, it was actually quite fun. So much better than the pressure associated with some other comps!

All the results are on the member’s page. The big winners of the weekend were our 7 year olds, who won both tap and jazz sections, 15 year olds who won the tap, jazz and musical theatre sections, and our seniors who also won tap and jazz. All other age groups received mixed 1st, 2nd and 3rds...great results all up!

Here are 2 of our littlest supporters...Miss Leanne’s grand children, twins Summer and Skyla. They’re already little Wiz Kidz!

So now we move closer to our LAST Comp for the year...KIDSXPRESS on the 19th of Sept.
This will also have a wonderful atmosphere so we look forward to GY putting on a great show!
Look after yourself please...no injuries! No illnesses! PLEASE!

Save up your gold coins for a donation to this very needy charity! KidsXpress does remarkable work with children in trauma and they are doing it really tough at the moment. Each school will be given a bucket to hopefully fill with gold coins. Whoever raises the most will win JUSTICE CREW coming out to their studio for a workshop. I know all the JFH students would absolutely LOVE that prize.

Take a look at the DANCELIFE website and newsletter this week. There’s a photo of WADE ROBSON with the lucky dancers who scored a 2 hour class with him! Kaylie said it was so inspirational, she is in awe of his talent, creativity and enthusiasm for the dance. How amazing to have the opportunity to work with him for the last 6 weeks. We’ve always admired this man’s choreography and career, and can’t wait to add a photo of him and Kay on the ‘Wade Robson’ door of the studio.

Kaylie will be dancing in 2 routines of the Helpman Awards on Monday night, which is televised. Look for her in the opening of both the first and second act.
