Dance Blitz eisteddfod…AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!

From the smallest to the tallest pupil! You all outdid yourselves!
I was so proud of the way the GY Kidz entertained the audience all day in every age group!
You all looked so happy and relaxed on stage…loving every minute of being up there!
The results were FANTASTIC!! (all up on the TROUPE section)
We LOVE Carol Whittaker!! Her reports were so comprehensive and she noticed absolutely everything!

Please send me your BEST happy pics of the day for our Gallery.

Another audition is out there for the 8 to15 year olds…strong singer/dancers!
Get your CV’s and head shots to me ASAP so I can register them with the organisers!

Step x Step call backs are this Sunday.
Congrats to our 15 students!! Tanya, Laura S, Stephen, Thomas, Daniel, Alexander, Janessa, Brooke, CJ, Christina, Nicholas, Josephine, Chiara, Tayla Grace and Bianca P.
I hope you are all preparing yourselves!! Do not go in there without lots of forethought!

Nikki Webster will be visiting our studio on Wednesday with Cimone Grayson (agent to many wonderfully talented people).
They will be observing our young students in the Stage Jazz classes.
Do your DAZZLING best little people!

The HONG KONG trip is definitely going ahead in September with 54 VERY excited people on board! We will have a meeting in the next couple of weeks to determine our ‘game plan’.

I went along to watch CANDY MAN last Friday night in Wollongong. There are 2 new boys in the show - Jesse Rasmussen and Jordan Pollard. You are all familiar with Jesse and his brilliant hip hop chorie, well I have to say how fantastic it was to see him dance the more traditional styles! He is such a showman! And his tapping is to die for!!

Jordan was a GY dancer quite a few years ago now, and I have known him since he was a ‘brat’ of a boy, and I say that with total affection! He and Kaylie modelled together in many parades since they were 5 years old….he was always hiding her clothes and being a general pest to her, as only boys can be! Jordan also danced with her in all the Nikki Webster gigs.

It was a joy to watch the camaraderie between these guys and our gorgeous Elite / EDS teacher, Veronica Beattie, on stage.
Hopefully they’ll all be doing the Lyric Theatre together in early May….I urge you all to go see the show then.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE has once again given some of the GY students the opportunity to be a little more involved in the show, thanks to the wonderful P J Clarke!!

Tanya, Annabelle, Kate, Laura S, Laura W, Natasha, and Allyra worked with Adam Williams last Thursday night. He workshopped a routine on these girls before teaching it to the top 7.  It was complicated and involved the movement of props. Watch it this Wednesday!
This was a great experience for these 7 students who all want careers in the dance world
Adam has said how fabulous they were to work with.

13 students will be ‘extras’ on the Project Moda routine with Kelly Rowland this week. They will have a lot of fun mixing it up with students from other schools, as well as some ‘pros’
Watch it on Thursday!

Tanya, Kristina, Laura W and Natasha will also be involved in the Kelly Rowland piece, They will be in a little featured spot….very exciting for them!!

Kaylie will be dancing for the gest artist in next week’s show.

Last week we said ‘goodbye’ to our beautiful lyrical teacher DANI COOK and SHANNON O’SHEA (who has done a lot of relief teaching for us in the last 12 months).
These 2 gorgeous girls have now gone to Melbourne for FAME the musical.
Joining them is Sally Hare who has also had guest teaching spots with GY kidz.

We will definitely organise a theatre party when it comes to Sydney.

Sadly, it’s time to announce that our very dear Miss TIFFANY DENYER is taking up a dancer role on a cruise ship at the end of the term.
We will definitely miss her electric personality and choreography!!
But, we are all very happy for you, Tiff!
